Our Story
Two fiancées, one home kitchen, and a shared belief that a really good bake can turn any ordinary afternoon into something worth remembering.

Bakery49 started the way most good things do — with a messy kitchen counter, a slightly-too-ambitious recipe, and the two of us elbow-deep in cookie dough at midnight, arguing about how much Biscoff is too much Biscoff. (Spoiler: there is no such thing.)
We started baking together not long after we met. Birthdays, Sunday afternoons, rainy days with nothing else to do — if the oven was on, we were probably bickering over who got to lick the spoon. That never really stopped. Somewhere along the way, "let's bake something" turned into friends messaging for orders, then friends of friends, and eventually a proper little bakery run out of our home.
Everything we make is baked to order, by hand, in small batches. No shortcuts, no shelf-sitting, no mystery ingredients. Just proper butter, good chocolate, and the kind of care you can genuinely taste. Our deep-dish cookies are gooey the way we'd want them if we were the ones opening the box. The brownies are fudgy in the middle. The cupcakes are soft and generously topped, because life is too short for a sad swirl of frosting.
More than anything, we love that baking brings people together. A birthday surprise, a "thinking of you" box on a hard week, a treat for a Friday night in — we get to be a tiny part of those moments, and honestly, we don't take it for granted.
Thank you for letting us bake for you. We can't wait to make something lovely for you next.
